"The thinking man's hard music"

It is not often that I can truthfully give an album a five star rating but 38th Parallel in Turn the Tides earns it well! With talented singers Mark Jennings and Nate Rippke working together as co-leading vocalists the musical blend is superb, giving an interesting mix of gorgeous rock and gruff hip-hop which seems to be unique to this band. Not to mention the lyrics on this album, which blow my socks off. Awaiting for the listener is a store of catchy rhymes and poetic phrases which deal with struggles in a rich, refreshing manner that is full of honesty *and* hope. As for me? I have been listening to the beauty found in the songs of Turn the Tides for over a year now and am yet to grow weary of it’s impressive tunes. Over the years many a Christian rock/rap album have been made only to grow dust on some forgotten shelf. Turn the Tides is one album which will last a lifetime. Most impressive songs all around are: Horizon, You Are My God, and 3 Times Denied. Other songs worthy of mention: Clouded and Who Am I?

This was/is an amazing album. These guys broke up shortly after this release, were going to get back together and actually made a couple of songs independantly, and then decided to call it quitts only a month or so ago. Too many comparisons were thrown their way, but the dual vocals are phenomenal and the production is solid. Definitely a good pick up for any fan of quality music, period.

I thought this was a very well put together album. I love the sound of these guys and the lyrics are truly Christian.
