Old songs with deep meanings sung by a pure voice

Excellent album! I love Chris Rice's voice, his fresh rearrangements, and these worshipful lyrics. This album is calm, peaceful, relaxing, worshipful, and thought-provoking. If you like these hymns and enjoy the singing of Chris Rice, you will not regret buying the whole album.

Simply Wonderful

These songs have brought me to tears and into a state of worship like nothing else could. My favorites are "A Mighty Fortress is Our God," "Great Is Thy Faithfulness," "The Old Rugged Cross," and "Before the Throne of God Above." I've loved Chris Rice's voice ever since his first album, and it fits perfectly with these hymns. I've never thought of myself as a hymns type of person (I usually prefer rock), but I was amazed at how much I loved these songs when I gave them a chance.

Peace Like a River: The Hymns Project

So good!!! Chris Rice has been glorifying God with his music for 15 years and it all seems to have been in preparation for this. And for those of you who like to stick it to "the man" this album was released essentially indepently through a label that Chris co-founded. Amazing, peaceful, grounding, tear-inducing, worshipful, comforting...give this one a shot.
