Don't give up your day job

Great songs. Love especially Common Man and It's been a long time. Jack has a great voice.

Late 80's Tour de Force West Coast Rock - Finally on iTunes

This album was released in early April, 1987. The debut single "Weatherman Says" was a minor Hot 100 hit peaking in the spring of '87. The follow up single "Island Fever" features John Farrar production (Olivia Newton John and E.L.O.) and was quite a departure for Wagner's style of music. The best part of this CD is there are various producers bringing a truly eclectic and diverse slice of Wagner's pop-rock to the party. "Love...Find It" was co-written with Glen Ballard (Alanis Morrissette, Aerosmith, Van Halen, No Doubt) and Clif Magness along with Wagner and is an optimistic and uplifting anthem. The anguished ballad "It's What We Don't Say" features Siedah Garrett who starred in "Man in the Mirror" with Michael Jackson. The exuberant "It's Been a Long Time" flat out rocks with it's southern rock roots and the album's closer "Back Home Again" is a beautiful and cautionary warning about succumbing to the Los Angeles fast lane and losing your soul in the process - but then finding redemption. A masterpiece of production techniques and West Coast AOR rock for it's era. Highly recommended and long out-of-print but now on iTunes! Wagner has a unique and distinctive voice and combined with the right production is magic. Wish he would record more as he still performs in concert from time to time as of 2008.

Jack Wagner's Best Album of the Decade

An overwhelmingly strong CD that only ranked at #151 on the Billboard charts when released in 1987. A true shame this did not receive the attention it merited. Excellent production, quality songs and outstanding backing musicians that include keyboardist Robbie Buchanan.

All songs are worth a listen, but the strength is the Wagner/East/Alemania penned Back Home Again-a gem. One that he should play in concerts to this day.

This ranks as my favorite CD of Jack's in the decade, and is one I always recommend to friends and family.
