Editors’ Notes

Led Zeppelin’s debut brings blues-rock to its boiling point and then transforms it into whole new forms. The groaning riffs of “Dazed and Confused” lower us into a molten netherworld, while “Communication Breakdown” lunges forward like a switchblade-slashing assailant. “You Shook Me” and “I Can’t Quit You Baby” turn Willie Dixon licks into apocalyptic thunder, but Page and Plant were already outgrowing Chicago blues. With ominous acoustic passages building to a furious, head-banging stomp, “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You” crashes over the listener in a typhoon of primordial rock force.

lifeblood

couldn't have made it through 'Nam without this . . . . . . .

Led Zeppelin 1

It didnt go down like a lead zeppelin. With all of the American blues influences borrowed by Page this is probably more important than anyones debut in rock and roll. If your a music fan and dont have this than youve been missing out on one of the greatest albums and bands ever.

Led zeppelin 1

One of the greatest of all time. If you really like it then try the red album by Grand Funk RR.

Other bands played on a similar field but Led Zeppelin carried a unique mystique cultivated by...
