One of the best

Every track is a gem. What an amazing talent. Steve creates wonderful landscapes on his guitar.

Vintage Howe

This may be Steve Howe's most versatile album and as such, nearly serves as a best of, including solo acoustic gems (Meadow Rag), Yes-style rock (Pennants) and incredible electric solo pieces (Diary of a Man Who Vanished). A must have for guitar music enthusiasts.

What if Yes had waited in '78?

Maybe they might've made something of what eventually became "Sketches in the Sun", and/or they might've caught the vibe of this album. In 1979, on the heels of the good-but-disappointing *Tormato*, this album seemed ilke a sign of hope, as if at least somebody in the band (despite the eclectic approach) wanted to serve up a reminder of what Yes was (or at least had been) all about. Alas, it wasn't quite to be, but at least we got this. If you're a Steve Howe fan and don't have this, what are you waiting for? I only gave it four stars because it's not, say, *Close To The Edge*, but it's definitely a classic.

In fact, his first band was a Chuck Berry-infused outfit called the Syndicats. He began playing with that group in 1964, and they released several singles before...
