A Must Have for Judy fans!

This amazing collection of music which spans almost fifteen years of Judy Garland's career.Disc one spans recordings from 1936-1941 and includes hits like "Over the Rainbow", "Dear Mr. Gable: You Made Me Love You", and "Zing! Went the Strings of My Heart". Disc Two includes recordings from 1941-1945 and it's is interesting to see how Judy's voice takes on a more condfident tone, adding to an already rich and powerful voice. Disc Three includes music from her most famous movies like "The Harvey Girls", "Meet Me in St. Louis" and "For Me and My Gal". The title song of the latter, sung with Gene Kelly is charming as well as "Yah-Ta-Ta, Yah-Ta-Ta, Talk Talk, Talk", with Bing Crosby. Half of Disc Four is just a compilation of songs including alternate takes of several songs found on the previous discs. Yes, most of the music can be found in smaller collections, but quality alone make this worth every penny and a must have for the Garland fan.

One of her first things .

This song Dear Mr Gable was a sreen test to show her off . It's a little sappy and sweet and of it's time . I love it .

Judy yes! Sound quality no!

Judy Garland is arguably the greatest singer that ever lived and I've been a life long fan. I owned a cassette that included the first part of this collection's disc 1. With St. Patty's Day that just passed, I bought several of the songs, such as "It's A Great Day for the Irish", and I clicked on many others. Wow, I wished I'd of previewed them first and saved my money. If it wasn't the sound quality which was pathetic, the renditions of some of the songs were horrible like "Treat Me Rough". It must've been an alternate out take because I've never heard it before. I'd seriously listen before you buy, you may have second thoughts.
