Cowards only in name

This album is a bold, but calculated step forward from "Reunion". "Cool Currency" starts with a question far heavier than the 21 grams of a soul. "Break Free" carries the driving beat masterfully accentuated with some great bass work and lyrics that don't leave "Soul Got Weight" feeling overly heavy. Then comes the wrecking ball, which serves as a beautiful build to the work's close. "Is This a Wrecking Ball" feels to the ears like a wrecking ball being hoisted above, as you wait for it to lower. The wrecking ball drops with "Speaking for the Dead," but you find rather than destruction, you are left with what is becoming a signature Cowards Choir anthem. And it's epic. Worth more than a few listens.

Incredible Album

Something amazing happens when you get 4 talented and mature musicians together chasing a sound. Cool Currency is an EP that leaves you wanting a full album. In 4 songs they capture a vibe that creates space in your world. The arrangements are impeccable and rich, with nothing missing and nothing overdone. Andy Zipf’s continues to sit back in his phenomenal range, having found a sweet spot that feels effortless with the occasional excursion into vocal ranges that boggle the mind. The rest of the band fills in with perfect harmonies. Buy this EP, but more importantly go see them live. Their joy and camaraderie is contagious and no one I know can turn the crowd into a choir quite like The Cowards Choir.

Amazing! But it now and thank me later.

Such a great album. Once again Andy Zipf and Co. have brought something wonderful to the music community. Cool Currency is reminiscent of music from simpler, and quite frankly better, times. A time where music was created from passion & talent and not from a machine. From the gritty soul of Break Free to the hauntingly beautiful vocals of Speaking For The Dead. Each track will leave you yearning for more. Do yourself a favor and buy this album, don’t just download/stream it. It’s an investment you won’t regret.
