Album Review

I Am the Greatest is the unusual but intriguing album from Dublin, Ireland's A House. In places melodious with a bent twist; in others, dissonant with an arresting groove. Picture the Velvet Underground nursed on Celtic roots. Highlights: the title track's dissection of the price of fame and "Endless Art," essentially a roll call of dead.

Customer Reviews

A great album

A House were a rare thing, raw and passionate, well informed and musical. They combined intelligence and insight with emotional honesty and openness. This album has depths and range and well repays repeated listening. To an extent it's a farewell, a dismissal of the music business and it's crude limitations, but really it's the great succession of love songs that lingers on.

Got this CD

as a promo when I worked in a record store my senior year in high school. I break this one out at least once a year. This is one of the most amazing albums I've ever owned. Got a lot of great memories traveling across the country while playing the whole CD. I would buy it again if I didn't alreadyh own it.

Sad

It's a shame this is the only album available by this band. This is good but, not the best work they've done.
