Lost gem

Bonnie Hayes is probably best known through two songs of hers that Bonnie Raitt covered (Have a Heart, Love Letter) but she has released a handful of albums herself. In the early 80's she fronted a band called the Punts, later to become Bonnie Hayes With The Wild Combo, and they released one and half albums. This one, her first, is also her best and one of the best albums of 1982. It's got a bit of that early 80's new wave thing going (although Paul Davis's guitar playing sounds more 70's-ish to me, kind of like something from a mid-period Steely Dan album). Great lyrics, great hooks, good performances. Best bets are tracks 1, 2, 3, 6, and 9.

GOOD clean FUN

Bonnie Hayes should be noted for her song writing talent as much as anything else. Several artist, most notably, Bonnie Raitt have convered her tunes and made hits out of them. In the age of album this was right up there with the best. You used to be able to walk into a record store and listen to the album before purchase. If you didn't like it you didn't buy. My collection at the times had The Psychedelic Furs "Mirror Moves", INXS "Shaboo Shobah", Dave Edmunds "DE 7th" and many other contemporaries. If you have ever seen Valley Girl you would have heard some of these songs. These songs were made for summer. Thanks for making them available. My album got a little too much heat years ago and I was wondering where I could get a replacement.

Excellent songwriting PLUS 80's Nostalgia

This is SUCH a great album, been waiting forever for iTunes to get it. Bonnie is a fantastic songwriter, her pedigree speaks for itself. Her brothers appear on this album with her, most notably Chris on guitar. Some of you may recognize him from that other 80's music staple... Huey Lewis and the News. So much talent in one family - love you guys! 5 stars all the way.
