Customer Reviews

I'm addicted.

I've had this album on repeat for the last 2 days. It straddles the fence between film music and modern classical, and pretty much captures the best of both of those worlds: it has the structure of a contemporary classical work, and it has that poignant, longing sort of feel that you get from well-made film music. There's a melancholy in some of the pieces that gets under your skin. A few of them actually are from film scores, while some of them seem to be standalone works. One thing that I really love: the album feels like it has an arc, or a narrative, that takes you from start to finish. If you're a fan of artists like Max Richter or Zoe Keating (who also do the classical + film thing REALLY well), you'll probably love this album. Honestly, it's the best 9.99 I've spent in ages. There's not a bad track in the bunch.

Evocative, alluring, haunting

Evocative, alluring, haunting, and slightly spiritually compelling. Steven Gutheinz has a created a wonderful collection of instrumental songs that are thought provoking in which the textures bring storytelling and memory to life. Within the sonic space their is an amazing concern for the spaces in-between as well as the subtle textures that become characters on a stage.
