Killer Vocals, Impressive Guitars, Super Classic Sounds

This album makes me feel like I'm lying on the floor listening to my turntable. It has that warm, full sound that hearkens back to an era when rockstars were seriously good musicians. The guy can really sing and the guitar work is amazing, some of it is pretty, folky fingerstyle and some of it is flashy, jazzy acrobatics. It's all really good stuff.

A couple songs remind me of Yes or Steely Dan with impressive prog riffs ("Miles Away"), and others are sort of Journey/Boston-ish with killer vocals and crazy Satriani-like guitars ("Victim of Love"). There's a strong Kansas vibe too.

Overall it's got a rich, honest flavor that seems hard to come by these days..and it's so classic, too! Like half the tracks could easily be from the 'Dazed and Confused' soundtrack, and others you could swear you heard in a John Cusack movie.

My faves are "Emerald Lady" and "Workin' Overtime", and "The Sky's The Limit".

Listening to these songs takes me back to my childhood, listening to my dad and you.... LOVE the album!!!

Heard his music on parenthood for the first time last week!!!
