Very Solid

This song and "Your Hands (Together)" are getting me really excited about the new album. In "Crash Years" there's a solid hook that really conveys a sense of urgency that harks back to what is probably their second best album, The Electric Version. As Neko refrains from passionate belting, we see a more mature side to the group's overall sound. Basically this song is sweet, and you should buy it if you like The New Pornographers.

Carl's lyrics + Neko's voice = Greatness

I'm a huge New Pornos fan, and an even bigger Neko Case fan, so I guess it goes without saying that I love this song—but it is genuinely good. Neko's songs on their last album, Challengers, were relatively slow, so it's great to hear her lend her voice to something more energetic. This song is a welcome teaser for the album I'm most excited about this year.

It really is great

First "Your Hands (Together)", now this. AC Newman is prolifically churning out the tunes that make my life happy. On her own Neko is amazing, but with her turns on these New P's albums there is an extra dimension revealed. A poppy, fun one. This song is just cool. I cannot wait for May, and I cannot wait for Together to become a major part of my summer soundtrack.

Newman started the band in 1996 as a lark after releasing Zumpano's Goin' Through Changes; one by one, the other members joined the fold, and the New Pornographers' first official rehearsal took place in 1997. By the following year, the group had completed...
