Album of The Year

I have been listening to this band for a while and all I can say is they are one of the best out there. This will definitely come close to being album of the year. Hopefully. It's 90% better than all music out there right now. I say 90% because bands like the Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Mumford and Sons are still out there, but this band comes close to the likes of Green Day which is no bad thing at all. In fact I might even say they are better. They are so unique and different. Mixing Power-Pop, Punk Rock, an Chiptune all into one is just amazing.

Track by Track review:

Fanfare: Can't rate this one mainly because it's just an into gets you ready for the opening track...

KABOOM!: This album opens with a bang. The perfect vocal harmonies along with the distorted bass and guitar mixing up with screeching synths is perfect. 5/5

Save World Get Girl: Opens with a groovy bass line but then goes into a pretty generic IFD song. Gives you a good idea of what else you'll hear on the album. 4/5

cRaZie$: This was an excellent choice as a single. It's the soft, loud, soft, loud type of rock song that everyone enjoys. Could have been longer but no big deal. 5/5

Gloria: Just an interlude.. Could have been anywhere else on the album and wouldn't have mattered. Can't rate.

My Way: My favorite song on the album. The acoustics mixed with the electric and a super catchy hook. Best lyrics on the album and an awesome chorus. 5/5

With You: The version on the CIJAN EP was way better, in my opinion and I honestly think they could have had another song like this here. Still a beautiful song. 3/5

Fight For You: Sounds pretty bluesy, which is awesome! Just another generic chorus. IFD is pretty good at that. 4/5

The Geeks Will Inherit the Earth: This song will do for Geeks what "You Belong With Me" or "Fifteen" by Taylor Swift did for teen girls. It's a pretty generic song but it's the type of awesome song that both geeks and everyone else will love. 5/5

Disaster Hearts: IFD has talent, there's no denying that and I love all their songs. But for some reason I feel like songs like this are a bit forced. It's not a bad song at all, it just sounds like a bunch of other beautiful rock ballads only with chiptune. The guys in IFD also have really good vocal harmonies and lyrics, which save the song. 3/5 (They should have used Just Decide here, though)

Don't You?: The kicker from their last EP. Only this time it's louder and more energetic. This is the party song that you just rock out and dance to. It's just awesome with an awesome guitar solo. 5/5

Working: A pretty generic punk/pop/rock song. I felt like it could have been the Foo Fighters that did this song. (But since they're my favorite band, I have no problem with that). The intro and chorus of this song are the best parts. 3/5

Before I Wake: Same problem as Disaster Hearts. Only this song reminds me of a longer version of an older B-side called "I Will Wait For You If You Do For Me." This song, however, doesn't feel as forced as DH. 4/5

Suburban Doxology: My second favorite song on the album. Very Rock-Opera sounding. Like something off Green Day's American Idiot. Awesome intro, verses, choruses, chiptune, lyrics and an amazing bridge. Amazing album closer that leaves you breathless. 5/5

Overall: 5/5 BUY THIS ALBUM. You will no be disappointed. If you only buy a few tracks get: KABOOM!, cRaZie$, My Way, Don't You?, and Suburban Doxology!

IFD, is back!

This time, with a full album! This album is actually pretty good! Even if three songs are recycyled from there EP's. Crazies, Geeks will inhert the Earth, and the New version of "With You" sound great so far.

Catchy

All the songs are so catchy, and it's just awesome to listen to how much better they continue to get

I Fight Dragons blend chiptune sounds with high-energy alt-rock, making frequent references to classic video games and nerdcore culture.
