The Femmes shame Gnarls Barkeley!

The Femmes provide an excellent cover. After the insufferably pedestrian version of Gone Daddy Gone that Gnarls Barkley offered up on their debut album, the Femmes take GB's signature hit and show them what a cover should be, exposing GB's shortcomings and revealing how horribly overrated they are. It's almost like watching Gary Oldman embarrass Keanu Reeves by acting circles around him in Dracula.

Crazy good!

As a fan of both Garnls Barkley and Violent Femmes, I can honestly say I love this version. Though the style is definitely a huge departure from the original, the Femmes have created a masterpiece by adding a fresh, original spin on a highly-played hit single.
