Another beautiful album from Gackt.

A must have for Gackt fans and a must listen for those interested in Gackt's catalog. Some of my favorites are "Mind Forest", a precursor to "Returner - Yami no Shuuen", "Lust for Blood", a divine assault on the senses, "Birdcage", a beautifully arranged song that expresses it's title musically in a way that you rarely hear in pop music and "Last Song", a great singalong ballad (if you can pick up the Japanese, of course). I even like "Dybbuk" which is a weird black metal/rap melange although it's not for everyone, I know. :)

Love it!

Crescent is a beautiful album. I especially recommened Last Song, Kimi Ga Matteirukara, and Lust For Blood. All very powerful.

It's Missing Something...

This is definitely one of Gackt's best albums - "Dybbuk" is so eccentric and unpredictable that it immediately hooks the listener in. "Mind Forest" is a great way to follow up "Dybbuk," although it stands alone as a great song - it's one of Gackt's more rock-driven songs, which is an interesting contrast to his usually pop-py material. "Kimi ga Matteiru Kara" is good, although it doesn't hit its strong point until about 3 minutes into the song. The best song, by far, is "Orenji no Taiyou." But guess what - iTunes hasn't included it for this, which is, like one reviewer, why I gave this album 4 stars rather than the 5 it deserves. If you want to see Gackt at his best, finding "Orenji no Taiyou" is a must. It is beyond words. :]

Gackt, also known as Gackt Camui, is Japan's polyglot pop/rock star, forging a career in the 2000s with his hard-rocking but slick songs performed in Japanese, English, French, Korean, Cantonese, and Mandarin. He is famed for both his work in the highly successful band Malice Mizer and his solo performances, the latter of which have included numerous songs for anime series, TV dramas, and video games. Gackt's exact age has not been divulged to the public, but it is known that he was born and raised...
