This is hands down one of my favorite albums, ever. Before hearing this album, I was never much of fan of choral music, but the golden voices of The Sixteen have shown me how powerful choral music can be. Some of my favorite tracks include: 2-Agnus Dei, Op. 11, 6-Missa Papae Mercelli: Kyrie, 15-Salve Regina, and 16-Libera Nos, Salva Nos: I - Antiphon. (Not that the other tracks are bad, just that I especially enjoyed those listed above). The name "Renaissance" may be a little bit deceiving in that not all of the music in this album was composed during the Renaissance, but that doesn't make it any less amazing. This is truly the music for inner peace.

Gloriously serene.

I am in love with this album! Every time I listen to it, it reminds me of what I love about fine voices and the feel of the great cathedrals of Europe. This music really does bring inner peace.

Wonderful Compilation

Wonderful compilation of works by The Sixteen, arguably among the finest of English choral groups. I would point out to an earlier post that the majority of composers are English and, living during the Renaissance, were composing in protestant England. Indeed, not all works are from the Renaissance or even from the Western Christian tradition (Sir John is, of course, a living, Orthodox). But none of this distracts from the fine singing.
