The start of something big

This is one of those sneaky albums. At first, it seems like so many others these days - catchy tunes, pretty face, not much else. Then the voice gets your attention. Sounds like ... like ... no, she doesn't sound like anyone else. She's not trying to sound like anyone but herself. And the songs - they're all different. Good As Gold is rowdy, boisterous and good-natured; Wanted You To Call is a betrayed lover's lament; Impossible tells of being torn between being a good girl and not being an old maid. There's a lot here to engage the serious listener, but still never a dull moment. I highly recommend Impossible. Unless I miss my guess, we’ll be hearing much more from Katie Thompson.

Singer and actress Katie Thompson debuted the role of Sariah on Michael McLean and Kevin Kelly's 1998 release of The Ark . But she began her career early in her life, just shy of five years. She started out with her father's band with a performance at an elementary school in Provo, UT. Then she studied drama and music at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Pasadena, CA. She met McLean's son Scott while they were students there. He introduced her to his father, and her career was successfully launched....
