Customer Reviews

Formula Rich Indie Music At Its Finest.

Take a brief moment and allow yourself to remember the days when indie music was all about two things: catchy hooks, and poetry. Somewhere in the haze of the bedroom producers, and electronic uprising, this formula was lost. Samson has survived the new generation to bring us this formula rich gem. Each track on Provincial will have you scrambling for songmeanings.net with their witty prose, and hidden meanings. Hooks you ask? They abound in tracks like Highway 1 West. A song about living just too far away to walk to any establishments, never going anywhere as a result, and the effect that has on ones dialogue. If you're ready for an album that demands lyrical attention, and will have you singing yourself to sleep, Provincial is your new favorite album.

Cruise Night

...would be be the perfect 3 minute pop song but's it's missing the last 28 seconds. Great anyway!

Wishes

I wish that more people could experience this album. For my money, this is the best album of 2012 that no one is listening to. (I suppose I mean in the states, I hope Canada is listening.) It's sad. But I'm just going to focus on how happy I am that I've found it, and that it will forever be a part of my rotation. Samson is a lyricist to the core, and I don't know if I listen to a better one. His poetry, the lyrics alone, are works of art, and when added to music, it's timeless art. Please keep creating this stuff, Mr. Samson. It makes me very happy. I wish you much success!
