A New Sound

They are certainly moving towards a new sound. But don't feel as if they are leaving their old roots behind, just broadening their horizons. I hate it when bands produce album after album with the same sounding stuff. Each AM album is unique. I love the new sound, and I can't wait for Humbug.


arctic monkeys should put Da frame 2R/Matador-single on the US itunes marketplace. There are not a lot of fans in the US but the ones who are deserve the single.

eight and a half minutes of reassurance

Ah yes, Arctic Monkeys' third album sounds good, but it almost falls short of my expectations because of its lack of bite that dominates their earlier work. This EP covers that terrain safely, and now that i've heard this in addition to the new LP i've decided that the Arctics have once again made staggering musical calculations. They have truly made the Nick Cave song their own, complete with heavy drums and spooky keyboards. Lastly. "I haven't got my strange" is a straight-up FWN track and successfully promotes the band's old and new sound in unison.
