Album Review

Where the first, blues-based album was melodic, this second one is rhythmic. The elements of funk, reggae, rock, and blues in this sonic stew are well worth a listen. The self-contained Canadian trio continues sounding derivative and fresh at the same time. "Old" illustrates compassion and awareness beyond the bandmembers' years, putting a new twist on Pete Townshend's most infamous lyric.

Great Canadian Trio

I moved to Canada for work in 1999 and was quickly exposed to a music scene that few Americans get to hear. Two of my favorite WMM songs are on this CD. Companion (Lay Me Down) and Why. I saw the trio play for a pre-game crowd gathered for a Canucks game in Vancouver and soon realized that I needed to get more of their music. This CD is a good choice for your first WMM complete CD. If you ever get the chance to see them play you'll be in for a real treat. Shaun Verreault can really lean into that guitar.

Aside from lead singer Verreault's youthful voice, WMM managed to breathe new life into the blues-rock trio concept and sound much more...
