Dalida By Ibrahim Maalouf

Dalida By Ibrahim Maalouf

Beirut-born, Paris-based trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf pays homage to the late francophone singing star Dalida to mark the 30th anniversary of her tragic death. An Egyptian native of Italian descent, Dalida ultimately became a sensation in France. Maalouf picks songs and a roster of guest vocalists that do justice to her long international career, drawing on pop, jazz, Brazilian music, and laidback soul in a program laced with romantic yearning. On “Il venait d’avoir 18 ans,” he brings his darkly hued trumpet to the fore.
