Album Review

The word on the street is that this, the Agents' second album, is a huge improvement over their first. Be that as it may, this one is fine, if not outstanding. The Agents, like many American ska bands, have a tendency to play too fast, though they resist that tendency admirably on some of this album's strongest tracks, including the very catchy "Gratidao" and the swing-inflected "Scully." They can play reggae better than many of their peers, and singer Jason DaLomba does a creditable job toasting on "Bridge to Nowhere." The lyrics are pretty consistently right on the line between acceptable and embarrassing, but that will probably change as the band matures. The horn section is first-rate. Fans of third-wave ska will be perfectly satisfied.

Customer Reviews

Nice percussion

This is a reall good group. I normally don't like ska but this is an exeption. You should definately give them a try.

But It

Great Album... We used to see them play all over the RI area... I look back fondly. Worth twice as much. It's a shame they're not together anymore. Buy both albums and make your ipod happy.

The Best Rhode Island Band

For anyone who loves ska this album is a must. The Agents are the best of the best of the once great Providence, RI ska scene. A group of extremely talented musicians all around, their horn section is incredibly good. There aren"t many better ways to spend your ten bucks.
