iTunes Review

With a quiet sort of mastery Andrew Peterson spins tales of yearning and redemption on Counting Stars. Over the years, this accomplished singer/songwriter has emerged as one of Christian music’s most thoughtfully poetic voices, avoiding easy clichés in favor of stories rooted in everyday experience. He upholds his high standards on his latest work by setting cleanly wrought lyrics to evocative acoustic guitar-based melodies, dressed up with banjos, violins and percussion. Songs like “Many Roads,” “World Traveler” and “God of My Fathers” take a wide-angled view of life in vividly unfolding imagery. Peterson is especially eloquent when he depicts the dark nights of the soul that even believers experience — “You Came So Close” and “The Last Frontier” manage to find hope amid despair. Whether he’s celebrating the bonds of marriage (“Dancing In the Minefields”) or reminding himself of his true calling (“Fool With a Fancy Guitar”), Peterson’s music combines humility with a hard-won sense of joy.

Pure joy

So relaxing and just good music , which is rare these days

Masterpiece

A friend of mine bought me a copy of this album several years ago after talking with him about our different musical tastes. He suggested that I might like Andrew Peterson's music. At the time I never heard of Andrew Peterson. My initial thought was that he wrote some amazing songs even though I didn't particularly care for his voice all that much. After growing more familiar with his music, I am convinced that Andrew Peterson is one of the most brilliant song writers/lyricists of our day. He puts so much careful consideration into every one of his songs, and has a way of captivating his audience to make you feel like you are sitting around a warm fire with him while he tells you a story through music. Every one of his albums is great, but this one is my all time favorite. Light For The Lost Boy is a very close second in my book. Check it out! You will be glad you did!
