Three's Company

Jack Jones follows up his grand big band efforts with none other than Billy May on the first album, and Pete King on the second. I have been a easy sucker for Billy May's powerful brass style of arranging, and this tops the disc IMHO. "The Spin I'm In" sounds like a Nelson Riddle arrangement, and his great backing for Jone's interpretation of "Change Partners" is only seconded by the Sinatra/Jobim cover. "Dancing On The Ceiling" is so elegant, and is why I love Jack Jones' clarity. Askme if I have a favorite in the May set.."Carioca!"

Pete King hit pay dirt for Jones with his arrangement of "Lollipops and Roses" but it goes further in selections like "Moonlight Becomes You" and "The Girl Next Door." If you want soft music, THIs is the half you'll love, but to have both genres of Brass or Strings... this is the disc to own!
