Album Review

Eugene Record's debut solo album. The ex-Chi-lites' lead singer and songwriter/producer, finally freed from an engulfing Brunswick Records contract, takes it easy on the best of his three solo platters for Warner Bros. Records. Record sings in a relaxed, loving mode on some lovely tracks that didn't quite make it. Of the even set, "Laying Beside You," "Overdose of Love," and "Putting It Down," with Barbara Acklin on backing vocals, are the most memorable.

Hip Hop Sample Ready!

This is so begging to be sampled man. Ghostface sampled "Here Comes the Sun" on his "Tony's Money" off Heavy Metal Mixtape Vol. 2. This record is full of sample ready stuff...if you produce please chop this up and make a hit!

Great and Sample ready

First, I am completely going to agree with the idea of some of these beats being Hip Hop sample ready. They are funky and easily able to be dubbed over… Especially with long intros without words. Then there is it in itself. This album is a very solid album… I have found some pretty good jams. I enjoy parts of both Here Comes The Sun and Putting It Down…. Overdose Of Joy has a intro of about 10 seconds that is killer.
