Dark Horse George Harrison
EDITORS’ NOTES
George Harrison worked through heartbreak to create this deeply emotional collection. His rewrite of The Everly Brothers' “Bye Bye Love” pulls no punches, and centers—like most songs here—on a devastating lead vocal. Tom Scott and the L.A. Express provide a smooth jazz-like cushion with the powerful instrumental opener “Hari’s on Tour (Express).” But the (broken) heart of the album consists of songs like the aching keyboard-based, midtempo “So Sad” and the funkier title track on which Harrison puts everything on the line.
