Another great Elfman score

Having not seen the film yet, the score has a much more serious and eerie tone than the comedic previews have shown us. Danny Elfman delivers a great soundscape worthy of the halls of Collinwood Manor. This is Dark Shadows.

Epic Elfman Score

I'm super excited for this film so I couldn't wait for the score and if the film is half as good as this score then what a treat it will be. Elfman is at the top of his game here. This score just fuels the imagination: dark, melodic, suspenseful and exciting. People will want to lump this with his "Sleepy Hollow" score because Elfman restricts his use of themes in this score like "Sleepy Hollow" and of course because its horror but I would compare it closer to the original Batman score. Although Elfman gives us those traditional Burton-gothic trappings its more modern than classical and it definitely conjures up film music from past 60's-70's horror films, not to mention Kiliar's score from "Bram Stoker's Dracula" all though far less obvious then Elfman's "Wolfman's" score.

An awesome score that will be listened to repeatedly. A-

In no way compares to the original classic score.

In no way compares to the original classic score.
I cannot believe the original score was not used more. Other than hints, there is nothing here. No update on the DARK SHADOWS THEME or Josette's Music Box. What a sad disappointment the movie & score were.
Robert Colbert's original score for the TV Show was a genius. His score is EPIC! Elfman's score is only EPIC FAIL.
