Wilson's tribute maternal moving, somewhat uneven

Wilson's lovely (and occassionally still underated) voice brings real emotion to this tribute to her mother, the late Johnnie May Wilson. The musical arrangment too, is excellent. Despite all the song has going for it though, the whole of the work has a clunky, patched togther sound. The deeply personal lyrics could have been more easily delivered in one of Wilson's famous "Dare To Dream" inspirational speeches. They certainly would have sounded more natural in that format. Some years ago Wilson recorded a like memed tune "Come To Me Mother", which was seriously considred for a Grammy nomination despite not being a top 'pop' music entry, based on the beauty and power of the work-it will stand up to history, i predict, far better than this offering. To the extent this song becomes a popular download, it will be more a reflection of the fan base of this supremely enduring superstar and the wise timing of it's release.

Mary Wilson just keeps on shining.

What a moving and touching song. The lyrics are so powerful and Mary vocals are oustanding. Mary sing with so much passion for her mother. I just love this song. Thanks Mary for bring a big smile to my heart!

Miss Wilson is on point!!

A very poignant, dramatic reading from The supreme one! Indeed, a fitting tribute Mary's mother, and mothers all over the world.
Shine on Mary!

Ross, Wilson, and Florence Ballard were the original Supremes. They began working together as teens in the Primettes. Wilson remained a Supreme from 1960 until 1976. She had an erratic solo career, cutting one LP, Red Hot, for Motown in 1979 before departing permanently....
