Bat Out of Hell

though all these songs are close, if not masterpieces, my favorite of all the MEAT LOAF songs is "Hands Down" Paradise By the Dashboard light. it's comedy, feel good, and just plan great to listen to. My ears loosen up, when ever the simple little tune starts playing.

Good, but it could be better...

Well, at a glance, this album looks like it wouldn't be a good collection for the casual Meat Loaf/Steinman fan. However, there are some truly unappreciated songs on here that capture the sheer power and beauty of the album released in 1977, such as, "Dead Ringer for Love", "I'm Gonna Love Her for Both of Us", and "Read 'Em and Weep". Therefore, this compilation is perfect for the Meat Loaf fan who prefers simply Meat's incredible voice. But if you prefer some more deep, operatic, (and in my opinion) better music, you'd be better off buying a Greatest Hits album containing more of Steinman's work (even though this album contains the 5 best songs from Bat Out of Hell). So, overall, I give this album 4 stars.
