The Standard

This band has grown. Their sound has progressed. Phenomenal Breakdowns, great cleans, and phenomenal riffs. This genre lacks so much substance and consistency. It all started off with Descendants, which was solid. Creation Destruction was fantastic. Slave To Nothing was more like filler. But still good. But they easily have released ALBUM OF THE YEAR HERE. FIT FOR A KING IS THE STANDARD, and they're just getting started. Everyone else in the scene needs to step up.

Disaster boy

About Fit for a King

Formed in 2007, Fit for a King are a metalcore band from Tyler, Texas who have been making a name for themselves with a furious sound and a driving desire to tour. Made up of singer Ryan Kirby, guitarists Justin Hamra and Bobby Lynge, bassist Aaron Kadura, and drummer Jared Easterling, the band spent their early years relentlessly hitting the road before self-releasing their debut, Descendants, in 2011. Their hard work eventually paid dividends when the band was picked up by Solid State Recording, who reissued their debut in 2013. With the backing of a label, the band went into the studio with producer Andreas Magnusson, and began work on their debut album for the label. The fruits of their labor, Creation/Destruction, arrived in 2013. The Will Putney-produced Slave to Nothing arrived the following year, and saw the band crack the Top Ten on both the Billboard Christian Albums and Top Hard Rock Albums charts. In August 2016 Fit for a King issued "Pissed Off," the first single from their much-anticipated fourth studio LP, Deathgrip, which arrived in October of that year. ~ Gregory Heaney
