iTunes Review

He may be underappreciated outside of the Bay, but Ray Luv is a local legend who's been doing his thing forever. Back in the late '80s, he was in a group with Tupac called Strictly Dope, and his first album—1993's Who Can Be Trusted—was put out by Mac Dre. He had a handful of successful singles over the years, and he's probably best known for the 1994 jam "Last Night." Deathwish is his first album since the Crimeseen collabo Population Control. It finds the Golden State OG sounding as strong as ever, sharing mic time with fellow Westside veterans like Mac Mall (who appears on three tracks) and the ghost of Furley himself, resurrected from the dead on the aptly titled "Cali Hustle." Both the production and lyricism are classic gangsta party style from start to finish, with standouts like the triumphant "Pushin'," the memory-lane jam "Hi Ray," and the ridiculously catchy "Leave the Club."

easy, young buc

curtiss, I agree that the "bay" has fallen a long way since it's heyday but Ray Luv has been around since you were probably in diapers. He's one of the best of the bay. This album has some tight songs. You're just used to the mainstream rap of today(black eyed peas, soldier boy). And keep in mind that this album was made a long time ago, it only recently got on itunes(Mac Dre was murdered a while back). Graduate from school b4 u comment on artists that have been hustlin longer than u been around.

curtis you must not have even graduated because if you did your homework you would know the type of music ray luv has put down for the bay.. i agree this is a sub-par effort, so how about checking out "Forever Hustlin'" put out by ray in 1995? ray luv used to rap with tupac shakur! and you can find him on classic tracks such as "bay area playaz" - get low playaz featuring many others, or "got 2 survive" - young lay featuring 2pac and others... how about thinking before typing some idiotic rant?

now that the homie back in the game tuff wit a hot banger these lames can sit down that is whats up hot tracks dope beats keep it yay yeeeeee
