Customer Reviews

i've been a devout fan of Impending Doom since Nailed. Dead. Risen. and they've changed a lot throughout the years. I do like this album but it's way too short. there's like 8 songs on here. My Light Unseen is pretty much a Demon Hunter song anyway, and Absolute Horror is just an intro. it's definitely brutal and lyrically amazing. stand out songs to me: Murderer, For the Wicked, Chaos: Reborn and Deceiver.

Early review

This is an early review and honestly I don't think itunes should allow reviews until at least a week after the release. Sometimes it takes a hundred listens before you really appreciate an album for what it truly is. Anyway, i'll keep this as short as I can. Is this DOOMS best, no i don't feel like it is. I feel like so much more could of been done and I feel they didn't leave where they left off on the last album. Which in my opinion had so much opportunity for growth which they should of expanded more on. This is a somewhat solid album, but at only 34 minutes it's hard to really get into it because it's over so quick. And tracks 6 and 8 are filler tracks. One being a little interlude and the other basically being a new Demon Hunter song. I guess I was hoping for a way less chuggy more innovative album that broke some new ground. There Will Be Violence had it's own sound, this sounds very similar to what a lot of other bands are doing right now. While this album doesnt break any new ground musically, and relies way to much on breakdowns to make it heavy, it does have a crisp heavy sound you can't help but be moved by and want to stage dive and worship as hard as you can to. The albums best qualities are the vocals, lyrics, and that hard hitting drumming.

Amazing album! The best of Impending Doom!

Creating a style of music that allows them to worship God through gore music (self-described as "gorship"), Impending Doom are a Christian death metal band who use extreme music as a means to explore their beliefs. Formed in Riverside, CA, in 2005 by founders Manny Contreras (guitar), Brook Reeves (vocals), Chris Forno (guitar), Isaac Bueno (drums), and Greg Pewthers (guitar), the band formed and quickly self-released the EP The Sin and Doom of Godless Men. In the time after the EP, Forno, Pewthers,...
