Awesome!

I have had this album since august of 2000. My mother got it for me on the day I left for college and it has been with me ever since. Stangely enough, my father died three weeks into my first semester and much of this album seems to have been the running soundtrack to "me". Screw all of the preconcieved labels or attachments because of where they are from or who chooses to identify their "cultural" attachment to the band. Its excellent, through and through.

Dude, one of my few classics

Everyone has at least one album that means a lot to them-a body that means more than the lyrics and notes and radioplay. An album that has secrets hidden past the singles and maintains the ability to hit different spots under your skin. I am not everyone, but I am a fan of music and I can say without hesitation this album is one of my top 3. Hip hop, rock, whatever’s new these days, not much can hold a candle to the culmination of passion, foresight, and luck this album has. It’s ahead of its time deserves several full listen-throughs. Wounded gives me chills, Farther gives me a solid subway ride, and 1000 Julys is a tribute to good rock. If you want advice from a review, buy it.

Brilliance

Every single song on this album is fantastic in its own way. The first 6 tracks are the most radio friendly, but the last half of them album is where the band really shines. Songs like An Ode to Maybe, Camouflage, Darwin and Farther offer a tripped out sound that should be listened to with quality headphones to hear every nuance of the song. Darkness and Wounded are the two stand out tracks, Darkness offering brooding guitar and lyrics with the best outtro Cadogan has written. In wounded every member of the band completely shines. Kevin's guitar is spot on, almost singing the song by itself. Brad's drums are huge and concussive. Arion's bass flies around, bringing orderly chaos to the song. Jenkin's lyrics and vocals come together to complete the song as a complete masterpiece. Songs like NYLG, 10 days late and 1000 julys may be the catchiest, but don't hold a match to the rest of the album. Blue offers a massive, tripped out sound that should be appreciated by everyone.

Biography

Formed: 1993 in San Francisco, CA

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

Although often lumped into the post-grunge category, Third Eye Blind sported a brighter sound than many of their late-'90s peers, taking as much influence from classic pop/rock traditions as the angst-ridden music that dominated the decade. The group scored its first hit in 1997, when their debut single "Semi-Charmed Life" cracked the Top 10. Third Eye Blind built upon that success throughout the following three years, releasing a number of singles (three of which cracked the Top 10) while touring...
