Album Review

This is an excellent collection of jazz and fusion numbers featuring the wholesome, peerless vocals of Maysa Leak and group newcomer Mark Anthoni. With gritty, urban rhythms and painstaking arrangements, Leak's radiant vocals ring with invitation. The lyrical content is upright and substantive. All the songs have an aggressive backbeat regardless of their tempo, providing an unobstructed platform for these artistic musicians to express their chic brand of music. Group leader Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick's vision of intertwine various genres of music (bebop, soul, classical, dance, etc.) into one incomparable sound is exemplary.

Took A Chance

I purchased my copy of Positivity from the Army Exchange store in 1994. I had never heard of this group but decided to take a chance after I read the song titles. It is one of the best CD's I have ever purchased. The arrangements all seem to flow together with each song a complement to the previous song. If you are a serious fan of Jazz or mellow music, your collection is not complete without this album. Take a chance. MD$SSPD

ok, first of all this is not a rock album , iTunes! This is a jazz album and if you were to go to their personal website, they are described as acid jazz or soul jazz. But anyhoo, THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST JAZZ CD'S OUT THERE! 20 years from now, this cd will still be relevant. This JAZZ cd is fantastic. Fav. song; Where do we go from here!

Get off yer' feet

I heard 'thinking 'bout tommorow' on XM and got caught. Downloaded it to my ipod and at least a couple times a week it will hit me how wicked cool of a beat this has with soaring horns. Man this gets you movin'. Run, don't walk, and download this track. I just got done downloading some more of it and can't wait to hear the whole tracks

Genre: Jazz

An acid jazz project with surprisingly deep roots in the 1970s jazz/funk/fusion world, Incognito were originally formed by Jean-Paul Maunick (aka Bluey) and Paul "Tubbs" Williams. Both were leaders of the late-'70s disco-funk group Light of the World, who scored several moderate British hits, including a cover of "I Shot the Sheriff." Just after the release of Light of the World's third LP (Check Us Out), Maunick and Williams shifted the lineup slightly and renamed the conglomeration Incognito. A...
