iTunes Review

Daft Punk composed music for Tron: Legacy to birth a cinematic score rooted in classical arrangements and lush orchestrations. The band looks back to Wendy Carlos’ original 1982 score for Tron in “Adagio for TRON,” where menacing melodies get enveloped by deeper and darker sounding notes. With analog video-game tones “End of Line” is the most Daft Punk-sounding song here.

Customer Reviews

All of you need to quit complaining and grow up.

I read all these reviews complaining about how Daft Punk didn't meet up to their standards. First of all, it’s a MOVIE SCORE SOUNDTRACK. Of course there's going to be a lot of filler tunes and harmonics. This isn't an album like they usually make, they were given the opportunity by DISNEY to create the score. Would fans have been more happy if Disney gave the score to someone like Danny Elfman or Hans Zimmer? I think Daft Punk fans need to be a little more thankful for that and see the new growth in their music after all this time.

This epic cooperation between Hans Zimmer works out perfectly with Daft Punk. Yes, I said Hans Zimmer. He is briefly acknowledged by Daft Punk in the Digital Booklet, and it's clear he was part of this. The mixture of symphonic orchestral music with Daft Punk's signature electronic sound is music (literally) to the ears. If you have ever played a game called Mass Effect 1 or 2, this music will sound similar, but different. Great stuff. This music is superb by itself, but I'm sure it'll complement the movie perfectly. The soundtrack is just building up the suspense for me, and I can't wait to go see it!

Oh, and who can complain about the 9.99 price tag for 24 songs? Get it!

Tron: Legacy

Finally Tron: Legacy soundtrack is here. This is by far, one of the best soundtracks of the year and with all the music by Daft Punk, this soundtrack and its movie will make history just like the first one did. This soundtrack helps the movie to create an ambience that would make you feel like you are on a different world, the world of Tron. This is a must have soundtrack.

Formed: 1992 in Paris, France

Genre: Dance

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

Even as they evolved from French house pioneers in the '90s to dance tastemakers in the 2000s to mainstream heroes in the 2010s, Daft Punk remained one of dance music's most influential and iconic acts. The combined talents of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter, the Parisian duo quickly won acclaim for their unique blend of first-wave acid house and techno with pop, indie rock, and hip-hop. One of the pair's first projects together was Darling, an instrumental indie cover band; their...
