Album Review

Targeted to die-hard undead heads, on Desperate Measures rap's answer to Slipknot offer up a compilation with a few new songs ("Dove and Grenade," "Tear It Up," and "Urgency"), some covers, and six live versions of tracks from their debut record, Swan Songs, performed in the gang's usual cocky rap style. The included DVD features footage of the group performing live at the Sunshine in Albuquerque, NM, and the Marquee in Tempe, AZ. Apparently, the "six crazy MCs" in V for Vendetta masks have a dedicated following. [Desperate Measures was also released in a clean version with explicit content removed.]

Desperate Measures: Audio/Video (Deluxe Version)

Ok, maybe this time iTunes won't trash my review. I am a huge HU fan, although this album did live up to the title. Basically you are buying a live version of Swan Songs with six new tracks (three of which are covers). Along with the live concert. If you can't actually see them live, this is the next best thing. I would have given this five stars had there been maybe three or four more new songs.

HU CREW!

hollywood undead is amazing and this album is awesome. id give it 874307435 stars if i could. woop!

Biography

Formed: June, 2005 in Hollywood, CA

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Hollywood Undead hail (unsurprisingly) from the streets of Hollywood, California, mixing brash hip-hop, rock, and minor metalcore touches with cocky posturing and thug attitudes. Owing much of their popularity and exposure to the social networking monster MySpace, the group -- whose members usually wear masks on-stage -- started as the musical project of J-Dog and Tha Producer in June 2005. They uploaded some new music to their profile and very quickly started amassing song plays and online friends...
