Album Review

Live Cannibalism is Cannibal Corpse's first live album, recorded in 2000 at venues in Milwaukee and Indianapolis. The track listing includes fan favorites from both the George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher and Chris Barnes eras, and there isn't quite as much emphasis on later material as one might expect. There's nothing revelatory or unexpected here — just a decent concert document for fans who either want to preserve the experience of the band's performances, or who can't make it to one.

Customer Reviews

Great Album!!!!

Although a CD cannot do justice to actually being there live at a Corpse show, this album is excellent. There is a great song selection and the corpsegrinder's voice sounds sick! The sound is obviously unproduced and raw, which in my opinion sounds much heavier. This is a great album to buy if you want a variety of old and new corpse without buying all of the albums. It is also awesome to hear the corpsegrinders voice, rather than Barnes(no offense, he is awesome too!) on the old tracks.

emo? slipknot? gwuh?

I don't know what you guys are smoking, but this band has nothing to do with any of that crap. Sure, Slipknot claims they're infuenced by death metal, but they are far from it, or any kind of metal really. Cause guess what, emo kids in masks are still emo kids! Also, if you try listening to death metal for meaning you will be sorely disappointed. I mean, look at the song titles for the love of god! You're not going to hear much teen angst in "Hammer Smashed Face," that's for sure.

Holy $hit!!!!

This is just awsome. The vocals and guitar riffs are just amazing, and The drum beats are brain busting. NOTHING is wrong with this album. Buy it, but only if your brain can handle it.

"If vomit were a movie, this would be the soundtrack," wrote one critic of Cannibal Corpse's music, some of the most extreme, violent death metal sounds and subject matter ever committed to tape. Reveling in splatter-horror imagery in their often indecipherable lyrics, the group's graphic album artwork and song titles like "Meat Hook Sodomy," "Entrails Ripped from a Virgin's C**t," "F****d with a Knife," and so on, have — not surprisingly — attracted a fair amount of controversy and sometimes...
