I Don't Like Mondays

Amazing that iTunes doesn't have "Up All Night", the Rats' best number, but does have the haunting (and blacklisted) melody "I Don't Like Mondays". I was in high school in L.A. when "Mondays" came out. They played it on the air a couple of times, then it vanished (presumably as soon as someone with a clue made the connection between this song and the killings at Cleveland Elementary in San Diego). I should say it almost vanished, except for being on the mix tapes of every kid at school. It is a very beautiful song, and it still sends chills down my spine. "Banana Republic" is also good, if not the original version, and there are a lot of other listenable tunes on the album. The Rats really were a talented band.

The Best of the Best!!!

The Boomtown Rats are a very unique band. They have a catchy style that will make you addicted immediately. This album combines there best old music into one. If you like the Beatles you will like the Boomtown Rats. "I Don't Like Mondays" is one of their best along with "(I never Loved) Eva Braun". But they all are worth buying, so if you like one of their songs you will like the rest.

No Up All Night!!!???

I remember the video for Up All Night when I was in high school and it stuck with me over the years. How can you call this a greatest hits album without their greatest song on it?
