Album Review

VOA was the last album Sammy Hagar recorded before he became the lead singer of Van Halen, and this effort shows why he was invited to join the band. With songs like "I Can't Drive 55," he adds a simple melody to the song which never distracts from the all-important, hard-driving riff. On "Two Sides of Love," he shows that he has the ability to pull off a power ballad, wrenching every bit of feeling out of the song. Like Hagar himself, VOA is never subtle, but in hard rock, that's a positive attribute.

I Can't Drive 75

The first 4 songs are some of the best songs out there. Check out Swept Away, One of my all time favorite song ever.

Hagar At His Best

VOA is Hagars Best album before he joined Van Halen. Every Song has a great mix of guitar, vocals, Keyboards etc. All the songs are pretty rockin. I really like the song Rock is in my blood has a great guitar solo. I can't drive 55 is a catchy tune, Dick in the dirt is a pretty funny song yet still good to listen to. If you want to get into hagar then buy Voa, I never said Goodbye, Standing Hampton, and Ten13. Theyre Hagars best albums. All Hail the redrocker

Hagar is the Voice Of America

Sammy has consistently made songs for the regular hard-workin', hard-rockin' American. As much as I loved him with Van Hagar, his solo stuff will always mean more to me - jam to mellow. 1013 club rocks!
