Customer Reviews

Average.

The orchestra performs well, but the vocals are certainly lackluster across the board. And I know it's a difficult aria, but "Der Holle Rache Kocht In Meinem Herze" is just.. frankly, mediocre- at best- on this recording. Sounds like she's struggling. Of course, it's not the whole opera, but I believe that if you listen to the sample Itunes has of it, it's representative of the rest of the music.

The Magic Flute

The music is well preformed and captures your attention right away. You don't need to know german to understand the beauty of the language in this album.

Over produced

The album actually seemed to be okay. But then it seems they got carried away mixing the final product. The orchestra is totally drown out by the vocal lines. Dynamics are good. But too much of a good thing killed this for me. Parts of it are so soft that I can't hear it, and then a minute later it's blasting! I wish the natural performance dynamics were present and not this over produced version.
