I Say A Little Prayer

Everytime I hear "I Say A Little Prayer" I think of that scene in My Best Friends Wedding where everyone in the restraunt sings it. This album is full of alot of great oldies that just make you smile :)

Mother's favorite.

Dionne Warwick was my mother's favorite singer, and I can't blame her. I love the oldies and this album is one of her best. Her voice is just amazing and her songs are extraordinary beautiful! So, if you love the oldies like me, you should add this one to your collection.

One of the All-Time Best Singles Collections

Bacharach and David were one of the premier songwriting teams of the 60's, and Dionne Warwick was their muse. No one sang their work better than she did. This album has all the classic songs from their collaboration. The highlights are some of the best pop music ever recorded--"Don't Make Me Over," "Anyone Who Had A Heart," "Walk On By," "I Say A Little Prayer." Get it!

Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan are clear influences, but she is not a jazz singer. R&B is also part of her background, but she is not really a soul singer, either, at least not in the sense that Aretha Franklin is. Sophisticated is a word often used to describe her musical approach and the music she sings, but she is not a singer of standards...
