Reseña de álbum

Compared with its predecessor, Darrin's Coconut Ass, the title leaves a little something to be desired. The good news, though, is that the music doesn't. Here, longtime fans who lamented what by popular consensus was the premature abandonment of the band's ska leanings are treated instead to a full-throttle genre swing-a-thon. Opening track and first single "My Everything," for instance, careens through a tangle of jet-fueled guitars into the till-now solid wall dividing emo and post-punk, and album closer "Stalker" plumbs a quirky pop vein better associated with bands like Fountains of Wayne. Never mind the dips and swerves, though — it works, and well enough to solidify this disc into something even the ska holdouts will deem worthy of repeat spins. Only the politically disenfranchised require advance warning: by the time the album is three-quarters done, an excess of loaded lyrics could prompt their permanent disconnection from the band, and without warning.

Great New Direction

I like the new Goldfinger. To show my appreciation, I've included an album review for those considering this album. -My Everything-5/5-Awesome riff and good energy. -Wasted-6/5-Best song on the CD. Flogging Molly's mandolin player plays on here. -Ocean Size-4/5-Okay song, it bores me a little, but is still good. -Uncomfortable-2/5-Worst song on here. Probably because it's slower than others. -Too Many Nights-5/5-Great song. Great Cowbell. Cool lyrics. -Damaged-3/5-OK song. Haunting tune and good lyrics. -Behind The Mask-4/5-Cool song. Period. -I Want-5/5-Good energy. Good to play in a band. -Iron Fist-5/5-A shot at the government. -Walk Away-4/5-Cool song. Nice lyrics. -Faith-4/5-Lost gem on the CD. Cool song. Not cool the 400th time. -Stalker-6/5-Awesome Song. To anyone who is considering buying the album, let me assist you, BUY IT! To those who wish to get a small taste, buy Wasted and Stalker first.

Goldfinger is absolutely amazing!

I have been a hardcore Goldfinger fan for so long. This cd has made me fall in love with their music all over again. All the songs on there are so good. Its a definite change from old Goldfinger but the band itself hasnt changed and they are still amazing. I just saw them in concert and they were still hilarious and energetic. And wow, people can say they hate them cus they think they are sell outs but its so not true. They havent become a huge MTV phenomenon they actually arent receiving any publicity at all. Even if they do "sell out" Good for them for being popular. Who cares? As long as the music still rocks then whats the matter? Goldfinger will forever rock the pants off of all!

Very good. It could of been better but it was pretty awsome!

Along with No Doubt, Sublime, and Rancid, the Los Angeles quartet Goldfinger helped contribute to a mini-U.S. ska-punk movement in the mid- to late '90s. The group was originally formed in 1994 by ex-Electric Love Hogs guitarist/singer John Feldmann and bassist/singer Simon Williams (who were both working at the same shoe store at the time), in addition to drummer Darrin Pfeiffer and an unnamed second guitarist (who would leave the group before any recordings could be issued and later become a pro...
