Editors’ Notes

Marilyn Manson may promote himself as a defiant individualist but his best work exhibits a strong sense of rock tradition. “The Dope Show,” “The Beautiful People,” “Rock Is Dead,” and “mOBSCENE” crush with a sonic sense of rock history, recalling classic poses from the past while forging their own industrial-hard rock territory. The riffs were made to last long after the initial buzz and they do with an era’s defining touch.

Recommend Buying This Album

if you havent't already I highly suggest buying this album. with more then just a few good songs this album is worth having in your collection.

best of manson

This album is a great representation of all the albums produced by manson. Lest we forget shows the great transformation of Marilyn Manson over the years. I would reccomend this album to anyone looking for all the best hits from manson, though I would've liked to seen "Coma White" on the album.

Actually his best works.

A lot of 'best of' compilations do not include all of the artist's best works, and leave a few tracks out. This record actually includes Manson's best songs, which makes it listenable from start to finish. I LOVE The Love Song, and think this is the perfect way to start off (do you love your guns?). It's both catchy and in your face, and practically a sing-a-long (can't you just see a Manson karaoke cd?) It's followed by Personal Jesus, which is okay, but then you get to the good stuff. mOBSCENE, Fight Song (my all time favorite Manson song), Tainted Love, Dope Show, New Sh**, and Disposable Teens back to back? Almost too good to be true. I've never been a big fan of Sweet Dreams, so if you skip over that you run right into the classics -- Lunchbox and Tourniquet. Rock Is Dead is amazing, and reminds me a bit of The Love Song for some reason. The only problem with this cd is: how come The Nobodies, Beautiful People, and The Reflecting God are the last few tracks? But don't get me wrong, this is a good problem to have -- where else would they go? There are a lot of Manson haters out there, who fear who he is and what he is all about. But the true fans understand his message, and Lest We Forget delivers it loud and clear.

Marilyn Manson, the self-proclaimed "Antichrist Superstar," became a mainstream antihero, much to the chagrin of conservative politicians and concerned parents.
