Album Review

Ours frontman Jimmy Gnecco mentored under Jeff Buckley, and the similarities between the two are uncanny on his band's debut album, Distored Lullabies. Soaring melodies, sweeping vocals, and ethereal themes are prevalent as Gnecco mimics his late protégé with ease.

Solid Record, Best Voice In The Industry

Hands down Jimmy has one of the BEST voices out there today. Some people might compare him to Tom Yorke (Radiohead), Bono (U2), or Jeff Buckley but he is truely one of a kind. Distorted Lullabies is packed with beautiful songs. There is no need for the Add Song buttons here, just Buy Album. If you have the opportunity to catch him live, please do. Your level of infatuation will be higher than thought possible.

This album is amazing

I went to High School with Jimmy Gnecco and he was a major talent back then as well. It doesn't surprise me to see he's gone this far. I would recommend this album to anyone. His voice goes right through you and is by far one of the best voices out there today. BUY IT!!! You wont regret it! I do agree with the other rating - if you do have the opportunity to see them live, DONT MISS IT!!!

Best album from a band primed and ready to explode!

Ours is a band that has flown just under the radar for a number of years, but I feel as though this won't happen for much longer. With the growing anticipation of their next album, I think it just may be what's needed to propell them to mainstream popularity. If you like Muse, you'll LOVE Ours. Check out "Fallen Souls," "Drowning (Reprise)," "Miseryhead," and my personal favorite, "Medication."

Biography

Formed: 1992

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

Although technically a band, Ours is essentially the brainchild of self-described music obsessive Jimmy Gnecco. Born and raised in New Jersey, Gnecco toyed with music and various band configurations after graduating high school, but it wasn't until 1996, when he returned to America from a brief sabbatical, that he decided to pour his complete energy into music. It didn't take Gnecco long to attract industry attention; a major-label bidding war quickly ensued, with Gnecco turning down a few deals...
