Setting the Bar

The Bothy Band is certainly one of the best. Their "Green Groves of Erin" is a true standard. It accompanies numerous Irish vids and programs. A great album by a great band. There are many others though right here on iTunes. Danu, with the wonderful voice of Muireann on vocals; Moving Hearts, a classic like Bothy; Lunasa, Solas, and, of course The Real Supergroup of Irish, Planxty and everything the boys did subsequently. I'll skip mentioning Luke Kelly otherwise I'll be writing another 150 words.

The Bothy Band

The Bothy Band is probably the best traditional Irish band that has ever existed. Members are still playing today. Too bad so few albums exit. If anyone knows any comparable band please add a note.
