Album Review

Sum 41 album three, Does This Look Infected?, is much like Sum 41 album two, which was much like their lesser-known indie debut, Half Hour of Power. Which means, Does This Look Infected? sounds much like the work of Blink-182's snottier kid brothers, who are just in it for good times. Frankly, it's kind of a relief to be spared both the smutty double entendres and the self-pity, and while they still rely too much on processed guitar distortion and have sparkling productions, Sum 41 makes up for that cleanliness with vigorous performances and simple, catchy hooks. It's pretty fun, particularly since the whole affair is blissfully short at a few minutes over a half-hour, giving it a nice, punchy effect. There's nothing here that's unexpected, but it's delivered well, so it's a fun little record...but it's not much more than that, either. Although almost all the songs sound about the same, its still a fantastic album. Buy the whole thing!!!! The Hell Song- 9/10 Over My Head- 11/10 My Direction- 8/10 Still Waiting- 10/10 A.N.I.C.- 0/10 this song swears so much there is barely a non-bleeped out word in the song No Brains- 10/10 All Messed Up- 8/10 Mr. Amsterdam- 8/10 Thanks For Nothing- 9/10 Hyper-Insomnia-Para-Condroid- 9/10 Billy Spleen- 9/10 Hooch- 9/10

This album is soooooo good!!!

It takes a lot to get me to buy an album because I'm a pretty hard critic. I'm not gonna say every song on here is worth buying because that would be lying. There's almost never an album with every song worth buying. What I will say is this is this has a ton of great songs that I can't get enough of. Here is a short List of the songs on here and what i think of them. The Hell Song- 10/10 This song is really good. Verses chorus and all. Over My Head- 11/10 This is the best song on here and is the has the highest play count on my computor. This was my first Sum 41 song. My Direction- 8/10 This is a pretty good song. Cool Chorus, but the first verse is kind of annoying. Still Waiting- 8/10 This is also a good song. However the verses could have a little less screaming. ANIC- 1/10 WTH?!!?!? No Brains- 10/10 This is my 3rd favorite song on here! All Messed Up- 8.5/10 This song is pretty cool. Catchy chorus. Mr. Ampsterdam- 6/10 It's okay, but kind of weird Thanks for nothing- 8/10 Even though it has some yelling in it, it kind of goes with what they're saying. Good Song Hyper-Insonmnia-Para-Condroid 7/10 This song has the best chorus but the lyrics are only OK and super fast. Still a great song though. Billy Spleen- 5/10- Ehh... Okay I guess... Hooch- 7/10 At first I thought this was the stupidest thing I'd ever heard. Then I found it was about I guy blowing up. I considered this and decided it was still really stupid but pretty cool how it starts of medium paced, then gets super fast, (him blowing up) then super slow, the after math. :-) Anyways, there was an honest review of the songs instead of saying every song was 7/10 or higher. But this album still ttly rox!!

im only rated 4 cuz its "clean"

i dont like clean albums... if ur gonna listen to a song u dont want things all bleeped out in it! BTW the reason im writing this is just to tell iTunes, why do u have A.N.I.C. on the clean album? the whole point of that song is to swear, insult, and take a bunch of anger out thru music. more than half the song is swearing and i dont think a lot of people want to listen to: "you look like... you smell like... so why you such a... you walk around like..." *sigh*

Formed: 1996 in Ajax, Ontario, Canada

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

Sum 41 hit worldwide radar in 1996 after tiny Ajax, Ontario proved unable to fully contain the foursome's mixture of punk-pop riffing, hip-hop poses, and toilet-bowl humor. Led by guitarist/vocalist Deryck Whibley, the band also included guitarist/vocalist Dave Baksh, bassist Cone McCaslin, and drummer Steve Jocz. Wooed by the boys' goofy antics and incendiary live show (and excited about the prospect of promoting their very own blink-182), Island put Sum 41 on the payroll in 1999. The Half Hour...
