Editors’ Notes

Bringing together 12 of Janet Jackson's finest cuts, Best of Number Ones is both a fine introduction for the curious and an ideal celebration for fans. The joyous "When I Think of You" and thrilling "Miss You Much" capture Janet in a pure pop zone, while the idyllic "Escapade" and shimmering "That's the Way Love Goes" conjure up a beautifully wistful vibe. "Alright," from 1990, is featured in a rare 7-inch House Mix that includes Heavy D's sly rap cameo.

Part of the Icon series

I love how people are blindly assuming Janet decided to do this album all on her own. It's part of the new ICON series by Universal along with about 50 other UMG artists. And EVERY icon album is restricted to having 12 songs-again, something Janet has nothing to do with. If you don't need the album, don't buy it.

Short but Sweet...

Although she just released a Great Hits album last year, and this is obviously a way for the record company to make money, this a nicely packaged greatest hits collection. It's great to see "Make Me" and "Nothing" on here as I think both songs are fantastic! One gives a fun danceable Janet track that we love, while the other is reminiscent of "Again" which shows off her softer side.

These hits are from one of the greatest artists of all time. A true Diva. Can't wait for more hits!
