Some people just don't understand.

Worse Than a Fairy Tale is the greatest album so far this year and has an amazing story line to it. It is about 12 murders that took place in Saylor Lake, Colorado from 1979-1980. Each song on this CD talks about a different murder. Danny Stillmans voice shows the intensity and panic of the situations throughout the CD. Most bands; to be concidered hardcore, must sceam a lot. Danny can sing all he wants and still show as much power and toughness as any other vocalist out there; scream or no scream. Overall a masterpiece of dark and deep lyrics, all to uncover an amazing story.

A Dissapointment or a growth....

For anyone who enjoyed In Vouge as much as i did, at first this album is going to be a disapointment, with barley any screaming at all and akward chord progressions and pretty much breakdownless, Ross Robinson as a producer has basically either made a band sound increadble (Norma Jean) or have made bands sound horrible (From First To Last) So his take on Drop Dead, Gorgeous is completley up to the listener to decide. Although the album may be very diffrent sounding, it shows the band growing as a band in an atempt to create an album that they could be rememberd for. Instead of making another cookie cutter hardcore/screamo band. So all in all, this album is worth the listen, and probably even worth the buy, but dont expect to hear the typical drop dead style breakdowns and screams, but to expect somthing new that will take a couple of listens to get use to.

A Diffrent Sound Isn't Always Bad

Drop Dead, Gorgeous second album Worse Than A Fairy Tale is a completly different from their first album In Vouge which without a doubt made us fall in love with the energy that they had through out each song not to mention the album. The first time I heard the new cd I was dissapointed, because I was expecting a lot of Screaming. Just sit down and listen to this album and you will get the same thing that happend to me "Nightmares". Thanks to their creative storyline with each song being a different murder. I was scared there was a killer on the loose in my town as well. Some people might say that Danny's voice is annoying because of the whinny and moaning voice, but that is what brings the songs together its different and that is what makes you fall in love with them. You dont want them to sound the same as their last cd or the same as every other band out there. Breaking it down Red or White Wine? great song to start out the cd ill give it a 4/5 nice rythme and a singing chorus. Drawing the Devil- maybe my favorite song on the cd starts off strong and ends strong as well 5/5 great song. The Pleasure to End...- really like this song guitar in the starting is pretty good 4/5 Worse Than a Fairy Tale- Not one of my favorites in the cd slower then all the other songs 3/5 They'll Never Get Me- This song has the same feel as Dressed for a Friend Request to me not as much screaming but same order with vocals and guitars etc 5/5. It Sounded Like an Accident- Great song screaming is strong and a preaty cool part in the middle of the song something that sounds nothing like old DDG. 4/5 45223- The weirdest starting to any of the songs didn't know what to expect then we get to the energy and screaming we like. 4/5 It's Pretty Hard to Beat the...- one of my least favorite songs on the cd but not all of them can be good 3/5 Donner, Party of Five- Awsome song great beginning and a pretty amazing chorus that makes you sing along 5/5 Saylor Lake- The album takes a different turn at this point now it gets darker. 4/5 Bye Bye Blues- Great starting sounds like a scary movie piano stands out and 5/5 ending is scary try listening to it alone in the dark bet you try to see if anyone is behind you. I Wanna Master Life and Death- Just amazing greatest chorus in the whole cd, lyrics are great, beautiful piano in the end of the song 5/5 DDG is a great band and smart at that, they made a completly different cd with an amazing sound even if it doesn't sound the same as In Vogue. If it did we would be complaining that they sound the same and have no creativity. This cd gave me goose bumps and chills with the strange effects making it sound like your in a scary movie. Cant wait for the next cd I'm sure it will be a mix of In Vogue and Worse than A Fairy Tale a great mix that will be.
