Playdough Brings the Truth!

Playdough comes back with his second effort and this one is a sure-fire banger for your bucks, your listening ear, and your mind. The real highlight of his sophomore release are his honest and blunt rhymes concerning the ills and issues concerning mainstream rap music and pop culture. He raps about how simple-minded and decadent rap music is robbing hip-hop heads and teens, which brings about his ironic theme that his positive, innovative sound will never pierce new audiences. Musically, Harry Krum and the team bring a fresh sound using their signature sample-driven, guitar-laden beats with clever melodies and hooks. Highlights include the title track "Don't Drink the Water," the starter yet profound track "Up to Date," and a nice duet with DC Talk singer Kevin Max Smith on the track "Sandal Sole." What makes this album special to me is that this time around Playdough brings a tough but honest message that really makes you think about pop culture, the role of hip-hop music in today's society, and the issue of individualism in Jesus Christ. Its a profound message that warns of the ills of conformity and the malaise of immoral music. That's what makes Playdough one of the best rappers in the USA, because he's not afraid to speak what is truth and what is important in life; intelligent music for the mind and soul. Next time you hear a bling rapper or some pop culture clone tell you what you should do with your life, remember Playdough when he yells: "Don't Drink the Water!"

Playdough delivers again!

Playdough is an awesome rapper that God has really anointed. I remember when I first saw Playdough and just by looking at him I thought he was just another rapper. I had no idea that he rapped for Christ! When I did know this, I listened to him and loved him! 'Don't Drink The Water' is a great album by Mr. Krum. The whole album is nice, - every song! But there are highlights: 'Up To Date', 'You Sound Funny', Sandal Sole (ft. Kevin Max), Saddle Up & Don't Drink The Water. Nice album you won't regret buying!

Just go this and....

i just got this CD today and wow! He is already one of my favorite rappers in just a couple of minutes! Amazing album! Amazing! GET THIS!

Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap

Years Active: '00s

Known for his legendary efforts in the world of underground rap, success seems to continually elude the talented MC known as Playdough. A white rapper with lyrics that reflect a social conscience, part of his lack of fame is undoubtedly related to the fact that his image and rhymes are far away from the traditional image of a hip hop star. Working the underground circuit as a Texas teenager, his first break came when his group, Ill Harmonics, scored a role in an independent film. The group was...
