The Jazz Man

Woody Herman is amazing! This is the music I choose when I'm doing anything, from cleaning, writing papers, or just wasting time in my car. It's a masterpiece.

Yeah kids!

Do not buy this album! It is BOGUS with crappy versions of some of the songs like "Early Autumn". Where did that singer come from? The classic version has a great sax solo by Stan Getz, a classic. I didn't know Woody ever recorded with a vocalist other than himself. His vocals were more novelty numbers that serious music. The other stuff on this album is OLD and some of it sounds VERY CORNY today! Woody's band, his later stuff is hot, swinging big band music. Forget about this album. Don't write off Woody- he had one of the very best big band in American Music history along with Basie and Ellington.

i have 2 to a report on this guy bleh

Although Herman was always stuck performing a few of his older hits (he played "Four Brothers" and "Early Autumn" nightly for nearly 40 years),...
